And so we come to the end of August! Already!

I hope you guys had a wonderful summer month with much joy, productivity, and even some reading!

August was another edit heavy month for me, but I was able to get a little reading in on the side. I just turned in my latest edit, so I’m hoping to get a couple more books in this week before the month officially ends.

What about you? How was your month? I’d love to know what you’ve read lately! If there was something particularly good or a book you’re excited about, do tell! Leave a comment below to let me know what you’re reading this month!

If you’re new to WWWednesdays, you can learn more about how it works here!

What are you Currently Reading?

I’m currently reading (finally) Morgan Busse’s third and final book in the Nordic Wars trilogy, Winter’s Dawn.

Winter's Dawn by Morgan Busse - Reading

I love Morgan’s books. They’ve all been beautifully hopeful and also super fun and creative stories. I’ve heard amazing things about this conclusion and greatly looked forward to it. I’m very much enjoying it so far, though I’ve only read the first bit due to editing for work. But now I’m hoping to really dive in and finish it! Although, I’ll be sad to see the story finally end!

What did you recently Finish Reading?

I just finished Buffalo Before Breakfast by Mary Pope Osborne!

Continuing on through my MTH read through! This is one I didn’t have acess to as a kid, so it was a delight to read through a “new” book in the “old” series. I love Jack and Annie’s adventures and how they get to go to different times and places to learn about different cultures. This was a fun addition to the series and I enjoyed it.

What do you think you’ll read next?

My next nonfiction read will likely be Joanna Penn’s How to Write a Novel.

How to Write a Novel by Joanna Penn - Reading

I’m currently enrolled in a writing course that I’ve fallen a little behind in, due to life stuff and work deadlines. But it’s techincally self-paced so I’m hoping I can do a little catching up soon. Either way, this is the next book on the reading list for the class. I’ve never read a Joanna Penn book before, though I have listened to her podcast and some interviews she’s done. I’m curious to see what’s in this one!

Favorite Read of the Month

Of the handful of books I’ve finished so far, my favorite read of the month has been Tonight on the Titanic, though I admittedly suspect Winter’s Dawn will become my favorite of the month once I finish it.

Tonight on the Titanic by Mary Pope Osborne - Reading

This is another one that I hadn’t read as a kid, and Osborne did such a wonderful job balancing this heavy historic tragedy in a way kids can learn, empathize with, and read about. I really like the beautiful cover, too. But more than that, it’s a sweet story amidst such a tragic night. And there was an unusual element of thrill for Jack and Annie as I wondered what could happen if they weren’t able to reach the tree house in time.

And that it for this WWWednesday!

Have you read any of the these books? I’d love to hear what books are you currently reading, looking forward to, and what have you recently finished reading!

Until next time!
