Can you believe it’s the end of June already??

Time always seems to fly through the summer months. But summer is a great time to read!

I’ve been making my way through my Magic Tree House series reread as well as through some Green Ember rereads this month.

What about you? How was your month? I’d love to know what you’ve read lately! If there was something particularly good or a book you’re excited about, do tell! Leave a comment below to let me know what you’re reading this month!

If you’re new to WWWednesdays, you can learn more about how it works here!

What are you Currently Reading?

In my nonfiction world, I’m in the middle of the new book Sacred Margins by Steve Laube.

Sacred Margins by Steve Laube - Reading

I’m enjoying the look at creative writing from a theological perspective. So far this has been an encouraging and thought-provoking read. The chapters are short, but meaty so I’m going slow and savoring it.

What did you recently Finish Reading?

The last book I finished was Prince Lander and the Dragon War by S. D. Smith.

This was a reread for a work project. I first read this about three years ago. My students told me I needed to check out S. D. Smith’s work – and they were right!

Even with that said, this may be one of my favorites in the Green Ember series at large. The cover is definitely cool, but even more than that, the story in this one is exciting and touching.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I just got an ARC copy for Morgan Busse’s Winter’s Dawn!

Winter's Dawn by Morgan L. Busse - Reading

Eeeep! Can you hear me screaming through the screen? Y’all know I love Morgan Busse’s work. Her stories always hit just the right chord for me. I’ve been enjoying the Nordic Wars books a lot so far and I’m greatly looking forward to the conclusion!

Favorite Read of the Month

My favorite read of the month has been The Unraveling of Emlyn DuLaine by Lindsay Franklin.

The Unraveling of Emlyn DuLaine by Lindsay A. Franklin - Reading

First, isn’t the cover sooo pretty?! It’s colorful and beautiful and just gorgeous. Second, this is a reread. I was supposed to read the sequel earlier this year, but some life happened and my reading got pushed to the back burner for a few months. Now, at this point, I figured it would be best to just go ahead and reread the first book so I remember everything before diving into the sequel/conclusion.

Even so, the reread has been delightful. Emlyn’s voice and character are so much fun. I love her little bit of snark and how her thoughts trail off. And the premise of falling into your own story – and training to save beloved stories – is such a fascinating and entertaining idea.

And that it for this WWWednesday!

Have you read any of the these books? I’d love to hear what books are you currently reading, looking forward to, and what have you recently finished reading!

Until next time!
