Happy January!

We’re a month into the new year already! It’s the time of year to reflect on the prevous year and set new goals for the upcoming season. I love setting reading goals, among other goals. I have some fun goals for 2026 that I hope to share here soon!

In the meantime, January reading has been really good! I’ve read a few surprise books that I enjoyed more than I expected and started the 2026 Bookopoly Challenge!

What about you? How was your month? I’d love to know what you’ve read lately! If there was something particularly good or a book you’re excited about, do tell! Leave a comment below to let me know what you’re reading this month!

If you’re new to WWWednesdays, you can learn more about how it works here!

What are you Currently Reading?

I’m currently in the middle of the conclusion to Gillian Bronte Adams’s Fireborn Epic, Of Dawn and Embers.

Of Dawn and Embers by Gillian Bronte Adams - Reading

I’m a little behind on this one. I’d meant to have it finished by the release day *hides* but alas, life. However, I am LOVING this so far! I’m so sad to see it come to an end, so part of me wants to hold on to it while I can. I have full faith Adams is going to wrap this up so epically well!

What did you recently Finish Reading?

I just finished How to Write Short Stories by James Scott Bell.

How to Write Short Stories and Use Them to Further Your Writing Career by James Scott Bell - Reading

This was a super quick read – one I picked up for a course I’m taking. It was simple and straightforward, but had some slightly outdated information in it regarding Amazon. The first half of the book is really the main content, and the second half is a series of five short stories to kickstart the writer’s reading journey.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m really looking forward to The Restitching of Camille DuLaine next!

The Restitching of Camille DuLaine by Lindsay A. Franklin - Reading

I know this one has been on here or a while, but again, y’all last quarter was crazy! But I really am so super excited to pick this one up as soon as I finish Of Dawn and Embers. I love mermaids and the first book was an enchanting fantasy story. I’m excited to see how this duology ends!

Favorite Read of the Month

My favorite this month is a hand’s down choice! Wish by Barbara O’Connor.

Wish by Barbara O'Connor - Reading

This was an impulse read – one I picked up to see if I wanted to keep the book or give it away. Spoiler alert, I’m definitely keeping it! This book surprised and delighted me in completely unexpected ways. It touches on deep themes of being worthy and loved, finding a family and home, and dealing with deep confusion, anger, and familial dysfunction. And I thought I was just getting a fluffy MG book about a girl and a dog! Full review coming soon!

And that it for this WWWednesday!

Have you read any of the these books? I’d love to hear what books are you currently reading, looking forward to, and what have you recently finished reading!

Until next time!
