It’s gonna be May! Well…it’s almost June, but I couldn’t resist!

This has been an interesting reading month. I had some ARCs, a few disappointing reads, and a couple of surprise really great reads!

How about you? How was your month? I’d love to know what you’ve read lately! If there was something particularly good or a book you’re excited about, I’d love to hear about it! Leave a comment below to let me know what you’re reading this month!

If you’re new to WWWednesdays, you can learn more about how it works here!

What are you Currently Reading?

Currently, I’m in the middle of Margaret Peterson Haddix’s Falling Out of Time.

Falling Out of Time by Margaret Peterson Haddix

I reread Running Out of Time somewhat recently in preparation for picking up this companion novel. And I’m about halfway through it now. I’ve been enjoying it so far! I’m curious to see where it goes.

Haddix was one of my favorite authors as a child. She knows how to tell a page-turning story. I’m usually hesitant about “additions” to older books (standalones, or previously completed series) especially years after the originals, but I trust Haddix enough to give it a shot!

What did you recently Finish Reading?

The last book I finished was The Midnight Blizzard by Mary Mecham.

The Midnight Blizzard by Mary Mecham - Reading

This was a total impulse read, and ended up accidentally being a stay-up-til-1-am binge read…whoops…But guys, I LOVED this one! It was so stinking adorable! And I’m absolutely in love with it now. I need to buy a copy for my shelf and check out more from the author.

I’m tempted to reread this one even though I just finished it. I don’t remember the last time I stayed up past bedtime to finish a book, or the last time I read one in one sitting like this!

What do you think you’ll read next?

Next, I’m thinking about diving into a MG book my local BAM clerk recommended, The Last Dragon on Mars.

The Last Dragon on Mars by Scott Reintgen - Reading

This is a MG book my local BAM clerk recommended! She mentioned that it had been popular and many kids were enjoying it. I love Middle Grade and I’m curious about this as a newer MG release! I also love dragons and the premise of this looks super interesting!

Favorite Read of the Month

My favorite of the month would be The Midnight Blizzard (see above!), but so as not to duplicate, I’ll share my runner up (which was my favorite of the month until I impulse binge read The Midnight Blizzard). K. M. Shea’s Cinderella and the Colonel!

Cinderella and the Colonel by K. M. Shea - Reading

Are we sensing a theme here? *cough cough* 😀

Yes, I do love Cinderella, but this was also a really adorable read. This has been my favorite in the series so far. Shea is so great at humor and Cinderella was such a fun character. I loved her loyalty for her people and her incredible work ethic. This was a great Cinderella retelling and I’d definitely recommend it! Stay tuned for the review to be posted to the blog in the next few weeks!

And that it for this WWWednesday!

Have you read any of the these books? I’d love to hear what books are you currently reading, looking forward to, and what have you recently finished reading!

Until next time! Happy reading, friends!
