Another month in the books! I hope you had a joyfilled August with much reading and just a good ole dose of life! Between work reads, I got a few books read this month. Though I didn’t read a ton, I got a few good stories in–both familiar favorites and a few new reads too!

What are you currently reading?
I am currently reading Brittany Fichter’s conclusion to the Rose of Destiny trilogy, Rose of the Day.
I’m not very far in yet, but I really enjoyed the first two books and I know this one will bring together some cool threads. I love the cover and can’t wait to see this creative story conclude.
What did you recently finish reading?
I recently finished a buddy reread of the one and only Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine.
What is there really to say about the classic Ella Enchanted? I’ll never turn down a reread and it was a particular delight to join a friend who was reading for the first time. This one is one of my favorites still!
What do you think you’ll read next?
There are so many books on a time sensitive TBR right now, so many options to choose from ,but I was considering a short detour with K. M. Shea’s Cinderella and the Colonel next.
Been in a Cinderella mood lately and Shea is always a quick, funny, and lighthearted read, so I thought I might try to squeeze this one in before my next required read XD This one’s been on the TBR for too long!

Currently reading Practicing the Way by John Mark Comer. It’s about how Jesus was a rabbi, and following Him involves doing what He did. It’s an easy read that I’m really enjoying.
Recently finished my St. Ignatius biography, finally. It was kind of a slog, but I’m glad I read it.
Next is still Normal People, since I unexpectedly bumped Practicing the Way ahead of it (gift from a friend as I recover from surgery, again).
Sometimes we need easy reads! And sometimes we need challenging ones. I’m glad you have a variety you can go to!
