Welcome to our January 2024 WWWednesday!
Welcome to the New Year <3 This is the time of setting new goals (including reading goals!) and rededicating ourselves to our priorities. I pray your New Reading Year is off to a refreshing start and that the progress you accomplish this year deepens your love of good stories.
How has this first month been for you? What have you read lately? Anything good? Are you looking for something new to read? Don’t forget to leave a comment and let me know what you’re reading this month, too!
What is WWW Wednesday?
WWW Wednesday was originally created by A Daily Rhythm and revived by Taking on a World of Words. To participate, simply answer the following questions every Wednesday:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
Here on GraceBought, we’ve do these as a monthly reading review. The idea is for a quick, easy post that keeps you guys in the loop and me involved on a regular basis!
So, without further ado, here is WWWednesday!
WWWednesday #55
What are you currently reading?
I’m currently reading Incomparable: Explorations in the Character of God by Andrew Wilson.
My worship pastor gifted this book to the praise team, choir, orchestra, and music ministry for Christmas and I’ve been going through it over the last few weeks. It’s been an interesting read for sure! They’re quick little devotional style, bite-sized bits. A good way to start the day (alongside Bible reading, prayer, etc.).
What did you recently finish reading?
I just finished The Misadventured Summer of Tumbleweed Thompson by Glenn McCarty.
I hadn’t heard of this book until it was recommended to me, but it was a cool little story. It has such a classic adventure vibe that I really enjoyed. It reminds me a little of the Hardy Boys with a western twist, but misadventured. I’d definitely recommend this one. A fun, easy, and sweet read.
What do you think you’ll read next?
There are soo many books I want to choose from next! This month I choose to abstain from reading (except for devotionals and work-mandated reading), so now that I’m getting to the end of that period, I’m super looking forward to reading sooo many things! This is hard to choose just one, but I’ll say one of the strongest contenders for my attention is Brittany Fichter’s Rose of the Dawn.
This is the second book in Brittany’s Rose of Destiny trilogy and it came out right after Christmas, so I’ve been excited about reading it all month! The first one was fun and I’m intrigued by the magic system, so I’m curious about how the story will progress. Also, the cover is cool!

Well, that’s a wrap for this WWWednesday! Let me know what you think below!
Have you read any of the books above? What books are you currently reading, looking forward to, and what have you recently finished reading? How do you make time for reading in busy seasons? I’d love to hear any tips you can share below!
Until next time!
I am proud to announce that I am down from my high of 17 simultaneous books to only 8. 🙂
I recently finished Differently Wired by Deborah Reber. It’s about raising a neurodiverse child. It was OK, but obviously my kids are mostly beyond the stage where that is directly relevant to me.
One I’m currently reading and loving is An Everlasting Meal by Tamar Adler and Alice Waters. It’s kind of a cookbook, but it reads like a novel as well. The writing is beautiful and I’m learning a lot from it, plus I’m just really enjoying it.
Next up is Self-Reg. It’s about regulating yourself and helping others to do the same. There’s a lot of good information about the nervous system, and sensory stimulation. It’s very good, and I wish I’d had it when my kids were younger.
Lots of nonfiction right now!
Haha! I love it! Knocking those reads out!! Great job!
I love the variety in your reading and how you choose to read books that some may consider “not applicable” but still get something from them, learn, and grow! A novel cookbook sounds like an interesting read for sure and the sensory read sounds like it would be super informative and useful.
