Welcome to our August 2022 WWWednesday!

Long time no see! 😀

August is always a busy month, but this year it was particularly crazy for a number of reasons. Work was busy, life was busy, and writing was busy XD But all that said, I’ve actually still been enjoying some more intentional reading time in the last few weeks. It feels really good to take time to intentionally do things I love and rest–and it feels awesome to push through some books I’ve been wanting to read!

How has your month been? What have you read lately? Anything good? Are you looking for something new to read? Don’t forget to leave a comment and let me know what you’re reading this month, too!

What is WWW Wednesday?

WWW Wednesday is a book meme originally created by A Daily Rhythm and revived by Taking on a World of Words. To participate, simply answer the following questions every Wednesday:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Here on GraceBought, we’ve been doing these once a month. The idea is for a quick, easy post that keeps you guys in the loop and me involved on a regular basis!

So, without further ado, here is our next WWW Wednesday!

WWWednesday #38

What are you currently reading?

This one has been on my list since it came out, but I recently started the audio book for The Lost Kingdom of Bamarre by Gail Carson Levine.

Thoughts: I love Levine’s The Two Princesses of Bamarre (It’s one of my favorite books <3 ) so I’ve been curious about this one. So far, I’m intrigued. I’m still not quite sure where it’s going. (And I’m a little cautious since I was slightly disappointed in the prequel to Ella EnchantedOgre Enchanted–that she put out around the same time.) But I’m cautiously optimistic cause so far it’s been intriguing.

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished Morgan Busse’s Blood Secrets, the conclusion to her Skyworld duology! I have been dying to read this one since I read Secrets in the Mist in April and I’m so glad I finally got to!

Thoughts: This may sound weird for a book about sky pirates and zombies, but this was actually a homey kind of comfort read for me. It was super easy and quick, and something about it just made me snuggle in deeper and feel so…comfortable! I loved the characters and the story and I didn’t want to put it down. She builds tension so well–like a slow burn–but it wasn’t necessarily an intense page-turner. I’m excited to review this one more in depth, but suffice it to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be reading more of her books.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m starting a community buddy read/book study on Sara Ella’s The Wonderland Trials this week!

Thoughts: I’m not a huge Alice and Wonderland fan. Never have been. But I’ve learned that retellings can be better than the original stories I don’t like. And I’ve heard really inspiring things about this one, so I’m excited to jump in and start it! Also, that cover is epic!!

Well, that’s a wrap for this WWW Wednesday! Let me know what you think below!

Have you read any of the books above? What did you think? What books are you currently reading, looking forward to, and what have you recently finished reading? How do you make time for reading in busy seasons? I’d love to hear any tips you can share below!

Until next time!
