Welcome to the October WWWednesday!
If you got an email or notification about WWWednesday #77 for November, that’s because silly me scheduled the wrong post to go live last night instead of the October one. Exhibit A of life being crazy right now! And now for the correct post that should have gone out.
Alas, yes, we’re a week late once more. Again, life just got in the way last week. You may have noticed we haven’t posted Book Reviews in the last few weeks either. October was just a busy month between the multiple jobs I juggle. I read very little and got even less done outside of work.
But I did get to read a few books and even though work was busy, it was still all good things <3
How about you? How was your month? I’d love to know what you’ve read lately! If there was something particularly good or a book you’re excited about, I’d love to hear about it! Leave a comment below to let me know what you’re reading this month!
If you’re new to WWWednesdays, you can learn more about how it works here!
What are you Currently Reading?
I’m just in the very beginning of Of Sea and Smoke by Gillian Bronte Adams.

I just finished rereading Of Fire and Ash and am so very excited for this sequel! I’d forgotten the last few pages of the first book and boy howdy am I so ready to see the story continue!
Also, isn’t this cover awesome!? I’ve loved the elemental powers of the horses and how tightly the plot is woven together. Each of the scenes build on one another and the characters are such fun. Greatly looking forward to diving into this one!
What did you recently Finish Reading?
I just finished reading Ray Bradbury’s classic, Fahrenheit 451.

This is one that’s been on my TBR for a long time. I somehow missed reading it in school. I knew almost nothing about it going into it – just the basic premise that there was a dystopian society where books were illegal and burned.
I listened to the audiobook while driving out of state to visit family and I have to admit I was completely captivated the whole time. I’d be curious to read the physical edition because I could hear things in the reading that indicated the formatting was unusual – kudos to the awesome job the narrator did!
Stay tuned for the full review to come on this one!
What do you think you’ll read next?
I’ve got a few books warring for the next reading spot. I’m not sure if I’ll impulse something or go on and read Of Dawn and Embers, but one that’s very high on the options list is The Restitching of Camillie DuLaine by Lindsay A. Franklin.

I ADORE this cover! Y’all know how I feel about mermaids! And the first book, The Unraveling of Emlyn DuLaine, was such an intriguing story.
I’m super looking forward to diving into this world again and seeing what happens with these two sisters and what on earth this gorgeous cover is all about!
Favorite Read of the Month
I didn’t read many books last month, but I was delighted by Mariposa Aristeo’s debut, Sons of Day and Night.

I love a good retelling and there are some delightful nods to both the original The Prince & the Pauper as well as the beloved Barbie Princess & the Pauper so many of us grew up with. I could also see the inspiration of Jennifer Nielsen’s The False Prince in there too.
Mariposa brings action and adventure in a unique society. I loved the dynamics of the divisive culture and all the implications that hints at thematically and I’m definitely curious to see where she takes it in the sequel!
Stay tuned for the full review to come!
