Welcome to the September WWWednesday!

Yes, it’s actually October 1st, but y’all last Wednesday went sideways, curly cue, and inside out in ways I was not prepared for XD So, instead of trying to get it out last week, I just pushed it off to this week.

I’ve still been struggling to spend time on reading, but I got to read a few really great books this month, which was a delight. There are still a few months left in the year, so aiming to finish strong!

How about you? How was your month? I’d love to know what you’ve read lately! If there was something particularly good or a book you’re excited about, I’d love to hear about it! Leave a comment below to let me know what you’re reading this month!

If you’re new to WWWednesdays, you can learn more about how it works here!

What are you Currently Reading?

I’m currently reading C. S. Lewis’s A Grief Observed.

A Grief Observed by C. S. Lewis - Reading

There are a handful of Lewis books I haven’t yet made my way through and this one has been on the list for a while, so I decided to pick it up. I needed it for one of my Nonfiction Bingo squares XD

I’m about halfway through, so I still have a bit to go, but it’s been so raw and different from his other books that feel so much more thought out. It’s still very intellectual and has the famous Lewis tone, but it’s also much more personal than any of his other things I’ve ever read. His heart is so broken and I can see pieces of the ways I grieve myself in some of his comments. Truly an interesting read.

What did you recently Finish Reading?

I just finished an rereading another Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys Super Mystery, Shock Waves.

Nancy Drew & the Hardy Boys Super Mysteries Shock Waves by Carolyn Keene - Reading

I needed a quick, easy read this week so I picked up a Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys mystery from the series I really enjoyed as a teen. I’ve been intermittently making my way through a reread of this series, and this is the third (so I have many more to go – yay!). I love a good mystery, but I also really enjoy both ND and HB stories so these super mysteries with them together are always a treat.

Admittedly, this isn’t my favorite in the series, but it does have island, treasure, and heist vibes, so it’s still a lot of fun.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I have so many books on my TBR that are fighting for attention right now XD But I’m hoping to get to Mariposa Aristeo’s Sons of Day and Night really soon!

Sons of Day and Night by Mariposa Aristeo - Reading

This has so many things I’m so excited for. First, Mariposa is a doll and I am so excited to see her debut finally come out! Second, night and day vibes! You know I love some light and dark aesthetics. Additionally, it’s a retelling and I’m so stoked to see what she does with this one. And lastly, but I’m certainly sure not least, this has so many sassy vibes! It makes me think of The False Prince and I’m so so excited to finally read it!

Favorite Read of the Month

I was torn between two favorite reads of the month this time: Sara Ella’s Glass Across the Sea and The Last Dragon on Mars by Scott Reintgen.

Glass Across the Sea by Sara Ella - Reading

Y’all have seen this one the last few months in my feed, but I’ve literally waited over a year to read this one and it was all that I hoped and more!! Cinderella, the sea, light and dark *heart melts*

Check out my full review and thoughts on the blog here!

The Last Dragon on Mars by Scott Reintgen - Reading

Isn’t this cover just the coolest?! And or a girl who has loved dragon stories since she was a kid, this one definitely delivered! I’m usually a tad pickier about my sci-fi, but this science fantasy blew my mind from the first chapter all the way to the end. I’m super excited to see the sequel come out soon and greatly enjoyed this read last month.
Stay tuned for an upcoming review!

And that it for this WWWednesday!

Have you read any of the these books? I’d love to hear what books are you currently reading, looking forward to, and what have you recently finished reading!

Until next time! Happy reading, friends!
