Welcome to the August WWWednesday!

Yikes! August flew by almost as fast as July! Was that the same for you guys, too?

I again didn’t do as much reading this month, but this time it was due to work (and a little more travel and some unexpected car issues). I ended up with two edits at the same time, which took all my reading brain power for most of the month. I was able to squeeze in a few shorter reads and am still hoping to get in maybe one more before the end of the month now that both edits are finally complete – but we’ll see!

How about you? How was your month? I’d love to know what you’ve read lately! If there was something particularly good or a book you’re excited about, I’d love to hear about it! Leave a comment below to let me know what you’re reading this month!

If you’re new to WWWednesdays, you can learn more about how it works here!

What are you Currently Reading?

Between edits, I’ve been chipping away at an anthology of short stories, Fantastical Summer.

Fantastical Summer by Vella Karman - Reading

Y’all know how I like my mermaids. Well, that’s what drew me immediately to this cover, of course. But reading through this anthology of creative short stories has been refreshing. They’re the perfect fantastical summer beach read kind of stories.

I’ve got a few left and I’m hoping to finish by the end of the month! We’ll see!

What did you recently Finish Reading?

I just finished an edit on the upcoming S. D. Smith novel, Green Ember: Helmer in the Dragon Tomb

Green Ember: Helmer in the Dragon Tomb by S. D. Smith - Reading

I’m really excited for this one to come out! I’ve read it a few times now and it’s such a fun story. Helmer is a beloved character, and seeing his origin story is a true treat. Long-time Green Ember fans are going to love this one, and I’m hoping Helmer’s story will draw in new Green Ember fans along the way.

I love the courage and virtue in this world, and Helmer’s story is no different. It challenges readers to dig deeper, grow, and be who they’re called to be.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Yes, this is a repeat from last month: Sara Ella’s Glass Across the Sea!

Glass Across the Sea by Sara Ella - Reading

While I had hoped to read this one at the beginning of the month when I got the ARC, two edits made me pause all other reading, so this one is still up next in my queue XD

But seriously, look at the cover!! And Cinderelllllaaaa! I’m so stinking excited!

Favorite Read of the Month

My favorite new read for the month was The Memory Spinner by C. M. Cornwell

The Memory Spinner by C. M. Cornwell - Reading

This was a bit of an impulse selection. I found an ARC on NetGalley for this debut MG fantasy and was intrigued by the premise of a girl who’d lost her memories apprenticing under a sorceress to learn to weave enchantments.

It turned out to be a pretty good little read! You can check out my full review here on the GraceBought blog!

And that it for this WWWednesday!

Have you read any of the these books? I’d love to hear what books are you currently reading, looking forward to, and what have you recently finished reading!

Until next time! Happy reading, friends!
