And so July comes to an end, and whew! What a month!
These past few weeks have been a whirlwind of catching my breath after the Realm Makers conference – which was an absolute delight! It was such a joy to get to see some of you in person again.
As for reading, well, I’ve done almost no reading this month. It’s been crazy prepping for, attending, and recovering from RM. I made some progress on a group read of The Screwtape Letters and managed to finish my fiction read. I’m hoping to get in a few smaller reads on the TBR before the month officially ends, but hey! Some months are low months and that’s perfectly okay!

What are you Currently Reading?
Surprise Island is the second book in the Boxcar Children series by Gertrude Chandler Warner.
I loved this series as a kid. Rereading this was delightfully nostalgic. I’m hoping to reread a few more of these off and on as time allows.
These four kids are so resourceful, respectful, and cheerful. I love the little adventures they end up in. It was as simpler time and I still find these stories inspiring because of it!
What did you recently Finish Reading?
I just finished Breath of Bones by mother and son duo Tricia and Nathan Goyer.
Steampunk WWII adventure that delves into the Jewish legend of the Golem? Yes please!
I love Tricia’s research process and depth – she writes good stories of hope and truth using nuggets of truth from real people who lived through horrendous experiences. Mashed up with Nathan’s love of fantasy, action, and adventure, we’ve got a lovely historical fantasy read.

I just got an ARC for the book I have been most excited for for 2025! Sara Ella’s Glass Across the Sea!
Y’all know how I feel about Cinderella! And Sara Ella is such a delight. I can’t wait to see what she’s done with this classic, beloved story! And I’m told there are hints of The Count of Monte Cristo, another classic!
Color me intrigued! Also, the cover!! Ahh!
