Happy April!
I hope you’ve had a most wonderful Easter and that you guys are getting some warmer weather where you are. I’ve been so ready for Spring, and delighting in both the sunshine and birdsong lately.
And, of course, to go along with the fresh new life blooming everywhere, I’ve been enjoying some shorter, lighter reads – particularly the Disney Fairies line of chapter books with stunning illustrations perfect for this season!
The shorter works have also been good since this was a heavier editing month for work. I was afraid at first I wouldn’t read much at all, but short and sweet stories have kept me in the game this month.
How about you? How was your month? I’d love to know what you’ve read lately! If there was something particularly good or a book you’re excited about, I’d love to hear about it! Leave a comment below to let me know what you’re reading this month!
If you’re new to WWWednesdays, you can learn more about how it works here!
What are you Currently Reading?
I’ve been buddy reading EntreLeadership by Dave Ramsey these last few weeks.

This one’s been on the TBR for a while, but I’ve been really enjoying finally prioritizing it! I love Dave’s style. He’s classy, but a little bit country, blunt, but generous and kind. He’s down to earth and his story is full of common sense, but he also challenges everyday people to reach for something grander.
I’ve particularly enjoyed in this one learning more about his take on leadership, and it’s been neat to read stories of what he’s experienced while building his business. There’s much here to learn.
What did you recently Finish Reading?
As mentioned above, I’ve been devouring these little Disney Fairies books, so the last book I finished was Lily in Full Bloom by Laura Driscoll.

These Disney fairies books are quick, easy, and super cute reads. I love that they focus on the beauty and wonder and magic in the world, but also on meaningful themes like friendship, courage, sacrifice, etc.
This particular story focuses on Lily, a garden-talent fairy who gets caught up in an invention competition between the talents. I love the thread of mystery in this one and the beautiful flowers, too!
What do you think you’ll read next?
Another buddy read, shocking! No but seriously, Cassie and I both got our library loans to match up so we can finally start The Return of the King by Tolkien.

What can be said? The epic conclusion to the generationally beloved, life-changing story of the Lord of the Rings! I am SO freaking excited to hear Andy Serkis’s narration and to share this journey with my bestie. I can’t wait to discuss some of my favorite parts of the story with her! And we’ll, of course, be ending with the movie after we finish the book!
Favorite Read of the Month
I’m taking a little different take on this section this month. Though this is just a chapter book – and I read several of them this month – this was the most delightful read for me this month: Rosetta’s Daring Day by Lisa Papademetriou

By now, you may be tuning me out on these Disney Fairies books, but this is the first one I picked up since the last time I read any of these a year or more ago, and so it was just truly delightful to slip back into this world. Plus, I particularly love the illustrations and storyline in this one.
Rosetta, another garden-talent fairy, is a pretty materialistic fairy. She loves fashion, pretty things, looking good, the best things in life, and prestige. She’s not a fan of any kind of dirty work or tomfoolery (a little ironic considering she works in a garden all day). But she ends up making a deal with her wildly tomboyish animal-talent friend where they each spend a day doing what the other likes. I love the friendship and juxtaposition in this darling little story and how Rosetta learns to overcome her fear of slimy, creepy crawly animals and dirty, dark places in order to save her friend. Plus, it’s just full of good old fashioned adventure and fun.

And that it for this WWWednesday!
Have you read any of the these books? I’d love to hear what books are you currently reading, looking forward to, and what have you recently finished reading!
Until next time! Happy reading, friends!
