Welcome to our June 2023 WWWednesday!

Well, this month held many trials and a few bittersweet joys. It did not go at all as expected. I’ve been dealing with some discouragement and stressful situations on multiple fronts. But I did manage to read a few good books, and that steady constant in my life has brought me some comfort.

How has your month been? What have you read lately? Anything good? Are you looking for something new to read? Don’t forget to leave a comment and let me know what you’re reading this month, too!

What is WWW Wednesday?

WWW Wednesday is a book meme originally created by A Daily Rhythm and revived by Taking on a World of Words. To participate, simply answer the following questions every Wednesday:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Here on GraceBought, we’ve been doing these once a month. The idea is for a quick, easy post that keeps you guys in the loop and me involved on a regular basis!

So, without further ado, here is our next WWW Wednesday!

WWWednesday #48

What are you currently reading?

I’m listening to the audiobook for The Fellowship of the Ring by none other than J.R.R. Tolkien.

Thoughts: This one’s a classic. We all know it! And a fantasy staple! I’ve actually never read the trilogy before, so this year I set out to rectify that. I grew up on the movies and have lost count of the times I’ve read The Hobbit, so I’m excited to finally read the LOTR books!

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished The Looking Glass Illusion by Sara Ella, the second book in the Curious Realities duology.

Thoughts: I’ve literally just written up the review for this one. It was quite the satisfying conclusion with lots more puzzles, riddles, and topsy turvy twists with a beautiful undercurrent of encouragement, as Sara does so well. If you missed my thoughts, go check them out here!

What do you think you’ll read next?

Next, I’m thinking I’ll pick up a reread, a favorite of mine: Inception of a Brigade by J.M. MacLeod, the first book in his Singing Sword Saga.

Thoughts: This book holds a very special place in my heart. It’s a comfort read and one that has challenged me to grow deeper in my faith. It pushed me as a teen to really dig into the Word of God and showed me that stories could be challenging, entertaining, and faithful.
