Welcome to the April 2021 WWWednesday!
Hey, guys! I can’t believe it’s the end of April already!! This month flew by. I did some travelling and visited family out of state, then attended a virtual writing conference, and am now catching up on the work I missed, so I’ve been keeping busy!
What have you read lately? Anything good? Are you looking for something new to read? Don’t forget to leave a comment and let me know what you’re reading this month, too!
What is WWW Wednesday?
WWW Wednesday is a book meme originally created by A Daily Rhythm and revived by Taking on a World of Words. To participate, simply answer the following questions every Wednesday:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
Here on GraceBought, we’ve been doing these once a month. The idea is for a quick, easy post that keeps you guys in the loop and me involved on a regular basis!
So, without further ado, here is our next WWW Wednesday!
WWWednesday #22
What are you currently reading?
In preparation for the upcoming Realm Makers conference, I decided to pick up Out of Time by Nadine Brandes. She’ll be one of the speakers and I haven’t read any of her books yet. Plus, I’ve heard a ton about her books and I’ve heard her speak before, so I thought it was time!
Thoughts: Honestly, I bought this book after Nadine posted a vibe video on IG. I hadn’t even read the back cover blurb or the premise. I just loved that video and wanted to know more. I’m only a few chapters in, but I’m intrigued by this idea that everyone has a clock and knows the day they will die. I’m curious to see how this goes.
What did you recently finish reading?
The last novel I finished was Jennifer Nielsen’s The Captive Curse and whoa boy!
Thoughts: Guys I have been waiting to read this book for forever! Okay, since it came out in like October or something, but still! I have some mixed feelings, honestly XD The read was amazing! And I go into more depth here with my review, but there are also some plot twists that I cannot unlearn that change the way I view the OG trilogy. And that makes everything so bittersweet. <3
What do you think you’ll read next?
My writing group is planning on reading Romanov in May (also by Nadine Brandes), so I’m thinking about joining that!
Thoughts: I love the story of Anastasia, so I’m really excited about this one!! And, I figure why not read it soon since I’m expecting to go to RM!
~~~
Well, that’s a wrap for this WWW Wednesday! Let me know what you think below!
Have you read any of the books above? What did you think? What books are you currently reading, looking forward to, and what have you recently finished reading? How do you make time for reading in busy seasons? I’d love to hear any tips you can share below!
Until next time!
Aaaahh, I sooo feel ya on having mixed feelings over The Captive Kingdom. I read it back in September from an ARC I won and I’m STILL trying to sort through my thoughts. XD Anyway, I also REALLYYYY wanna read Romanov ever since I read Fawkes AND I also have been wanting to try out Brandes’ Out of Time Series!! So I just recently finished Not Cinderella’s Type by Jenni James. The book was good, but I personally liked the movie better. I’m currently reading Unblemished by Sara Ella and I think I’m gonna read Dust by Kara Swanson next!!
Yeess! Girl, same. An excellent read. But so conflicted now.
Ooh! I’ve heard good things about Romanov and Fawkes. I hope they live up to it. Out of Time is…interesting so far. I’m still feeling it out.
I agree about Not Cinderella’s Type. I loved the movie. It was super cute!! But when I read the book, it was just disappointing.
Ooohhh! I’d love to hear what you think about Unblemished! Coral has been on my re-read list for a year or two, but I haven’t read anything by Ella yet.
And, GURL! YOU NEED TO READ DUST! I’m planning to reread Shadow soon in preparation for it’s release!! Sooo good!
Also, thank you so much for commenting and engaging in these posts!! It’s really such a treat to have this conversation with you!
AAHH, girl, I L O V E D FAWKES!!!!!!!!! I just read it in January and it did not disappoint!!!! That’s kinda why I’ve been hesitating with Romanov because everyone says it’s not as good. 🙁 Ooh, yeah, I heard some people say Out of Time was their least favorite thing Brandes’ has written.
YESS!!!! The movie was really adorable!!!!! Yeah, same! I REALLY wanted to like it but it was okay. Not the worst thing I’ve read but not the best either.
EEKK!!! Then I will TOTALLY let you know!!! I was actually going to read Coral first because it interested me more, but one of my friends was telling me she didn’t like Coral as well as Unblemished, so I went with Unblemished!!! So far it’s not quite meeting expectations, but I’m really hoping it’s going to get better. *crossing fingers*
AAHH YESSS!!!! I soo DO!!!!! I’m REALLY hoping to read it after I finish Unblemished!!! *crossing fingers* Hehehe, yeah, I’ve been hearing SO many peeps talking about Shadow, I’m like aahh, I HAVE to get to Dust first. XD
AWw, girl, you’re SO welcome!!!!!! Aww, yes, I always enjoy talking about books with you!!! <333
Interesting, I’ve heard from some that Out of Time was their favorite of her books. Well, not specifically book one, but that series. Now I’ll have to read them all and decide for myself 😉
I’ve heard good things about both, actually. I just love fairy tales and the Little Mermaid, so I wanted to start there XD
Gurl, we will have to fangirl when you finish!
Huh, it’s really funny how you can take a book and a million people say a million different things about it. Hahaha, YESS!!!! I guess that’s gonna be the same for me, too. 😉
Oh, yeah, same here!! In fact, my friend was like the only person I knew who didn’t like Coral, but then again she’s not really into a lot of YA novels, so that could’ve been why. YESS!!! That was the SAME reason why I was gonna start with Coral first!!! *high fives*
Hahaha, YESSS!!!! We are definitely fangirling!!! XD
So true!! And one of these days, I’ll get to Coral XD Gotta find a copy first! Same for Fawkes.
Also, it’s kind of bizarre that you said you want to read Dust after Not Cinderella’s Type, cause I did the exact same thing XD Look: https://gracebought.wordpress.com/2020/02/26/wwwednesday-8/
*GASP* I just checked it out, like now way!!! THAT IS SOOO COOL!!!! Haha, it must be the thing, y’know!! XD Like everyone should read Dust after Not Cinderella’s Type. XDD
