Welcome to the December 2020 WWWednesday!

Man, guys. Okay, we finally made it to the end of this insane year. As with half of the year, things did not go the way I intended. I did actually get to read some this month–but only because I caught the virus and was quarantined unexpectedly for the last two weeks. But, hey, gotta make the most of life’s curve balls, right?

What have you read lately? Anything good? Are you looking for something new to read? Don’t forget to leave a comment and let me know what you’re reading this month, too!

What is WWW Wednesday?

WWW Wednesday is a book meme originally created by A Daily Rhythm and revived by Taking on a World of Words. To participate, simply answer the following questions every Wednesday:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Here on GraceBought, we’ve been doing these once a month. The idea is for a quick, easy post that keeps you guys in the loop and me involved on a regular basis!

So, without further ado, here is our next WWW Wednesday!

WWWednesday #18

What are you currently reading?

I’m currently in between books. But I am finishing up the year long chronological Bible reading plan that I’ve been going through with my church since January. It’s called the Reader’s Guide to the Bible: A Chronological Reading Plan by George H. Guthrie.

Thoughts: Reading through the Bible chronologically for the first time–and with my church as a congregation–this year has been an amazing experience. This has been the guide we’ve used as a church, and I do like the daily commentary that this guide has provided. It’s helped connect some dots I wouldn’t otherwise have connected. I’d recommend it.

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished a prequel novellette for a series I actually marked to read as a 2020 reading goal. That clearly hasn’t happened, but then again, 2020 threw everyone off in a lot of ways. The story is called The Princess and the Pea by K. M. Shea.

Thoughts: This is the prequel short to Shea’s Timeless Fairy Tales, which I want to read through. I love this particular fairy tale, and this was a short, simple, but also action-packed retelling. It was a fun read!

What do you think you’ll read next?

Dude. There are so many books I want to read next. I’m not sure which one to actually read next. I want to finish rereading the Ascendance Trilogy so I can read The Captive Kingdom by Jennifer A. Nielsen, which recently came out. But I also have been in the mood to finish a trilogy I started a few years ago with the final book, Torrent by Lisa Tawn Bergren. Then there’s Shea’s Timeless Fairy Tales, which starts with Beauty and the BeastI could also finish Kaylin Lee’s Destined series with Cursed: Briar Rose’s Story. And then, lastly, I also have thought about pounding out Gail Carson Levine’s Ogre Enchanted cause I’ve looked forward to that for a while. All that to say, I’m not sure what I’m going to read next! But when I feel well enough to read again, I have lots of goals!

Thoughts: I’m so torn. XD On one hand, I’m excited about new books and new reads, like Ogre Enchanted and The Captive Kingdom, but on the other hand, there are series I could (and should have long ago XD) finish like Cursed and Torrent. And, though Beauty and the Beast isn’t my favorite fairy tale, I’ve really looked forward to reading Shea’s series for a few years now. So…what do I do?! What would you read next?

~~~
Well, that’s a wrap for this WWW Wednesday! Let me know what you think below!
We finally made it to the end of 2020!! I pray it’s been a better year for you than the 2020 rap gives the year credit for. What good happened for you this year? I’d love to hear! Also, how did you do on your reading goals? Better than me hopefully XD 2020 threw a monkey wrench in my reading, so here’s to looking forward to a new year of reading!
